This workshop explains the basics of HL7.

It starts with an excursion into IHE related workflow and how HL7 integrates with DICOM. You learn control and message rules, and how to use the manuals. Prepared exercises give you hands-on experience. A special focus is on radiology workflow and you see typical messages exchanged between HIS and RIS. With this knowledge you will understand all other HL7 messages as well.

The workshop is for people in the healthcare sector, where HL7 messages are in use. Participants of this course are administrators for HIS, RIS, or PACS, software developers, and service engineers in that field. It is also a good introduction for marketing, sales, and management people, if you plan to or already develop a product with HL7 interface.
